Lego Birthday Card

Lego birthday party means a Lego birthday card.

My grand daughter loves Legos and this was her request as the theme of her 9th birthday, of course that means a Lego birthday card and she loves cards with movement so I thought the "explosion box" would be perfect for her, especially with a tea light cake in the center!

First came decorating each side of the card. I had this Lego paper that I bought years ago for that scrapbook I never got around to making! The box is made from black cardstock and trimmed in the Lego paper. The little Legos on top are made from cardstock. I just miniaturized a box pattern and punched 6 circles with the ¼ handheld punch  from matching cardstock to make the little dots on top of the box.

The mat behind the 9 and all the elements on the box is punched from silver glimmer paper with the now retired Apothecary Accent framelits.

Cupcake was made using the Cupcake Builder punch and the banner was stamped with the retired Best Of Birthdays set and the Bitty Banners Framelits.

The balloons were made with a generic balloon punch and I added gold thread for the strings.

This shows the box/card when it's open. The cake is made from a tea light and the banner poles are made with skewers and wood beads that I painted black. The banner is made from the retired Little Labels Punch Pack, folded over the string and circle alphabet stickers for her name and age.

I punched out small flowers  and leaves to decorate the cake and wrapped the cake with some now retired Ice Cream Parlor Designer Series Paper.

Sorry for all the retired products but I think all of these items can be substituted with currant products, you just need to think outside the box!
