Even the "Firemen" can make some cool cards!
Firemen Stamp for Mother’s Day

I happen to be married to one of those hunky firemen. He even likes to stamp every now and then and around Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day, his crew invites me to come to the station to stamp with all of them. They make a card for their spouse to celebrate the occasion. It’s something that we all look forward to doing twice a year. I’ve even been told that a few of the wives hang the cards on the fridge and it remains there to be admired until a replacement card is brought home—now that’s appreciation!!!

The Mother’s Day card we stamped this year was a big hit—both with the stamping firefighters and the wives and mothers. It was the perfect card to do on shift since they never know when they’ll get the next call. They all had their card stamped and put together within 10 minutes.

One of the firefighters said, “Really—that’s all the time it takes to make one of these? My wife is gone for hours when she stamps with her girlfriends!” I tried to explain that when we stampers get together—more than just stamping is going on. We’re sharing ideas, tips, and suggestions and enjoying each other’s company—that takes longer than 10 minutes!

Welcome Spring with the New Bloomin’ Bouquet Kit!
![]() | ![]() |
We’re craving spring sun and flowers, so the new Bloomin’ Bouquet kit is arriving just in time! You can easily create a dozen beautiful flowers to give to someone special, including an extra one to give as a quick thank you to someone else. (Or keep for yourself—hey, your flowers, your rules!)
These flowers would make a great gift for Mother’s Day, or any other special springtime event. Just imagine presenting a beautiful, handmade bouquet, complete with your own touch, such as a vase, some tissue paper, or a bit of lovely ribbon or twine. It’s a gift that says you care—and will last longer than real flowers!
The Bloomin’ Bouquet Project Kit (item 134542) includes the following:
- 2 sheets of 12" X 12" cardstock featuring 13 preprinted and precut flowers (flower colors: Pool Party, Gumball Green, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, and Rich Razzleberry

Another great project from StampinUp!
Let the Cute Begin
I am incredibly lucky. I have a new niece and
a new nephew on the way. My niece will be arriving in June and my
nephew in September. I’m so excited to meet them both. To help their
parents welcome them into their families, I put these little gift bags
together using the Best Of Stamp for May, Best of Brides and Babies.

I included a couple of gifts inside the bag: a gift card for the store where they registered, and a bundle of thank you cards.

Now Mom and Dad will have some extra money for more diapers (or whatever they didn’t get at their shower) and can also get a jumpstart on their thank you lists.
I think these bags are so quick and easy to put together that they could be used as party favors for the shower, too.

Project for those May Day Flowers
May Day, Tinted Jars, and More

Some years ago, on a beautiful spring morning, my children and I woke to discover that a sweet neighbor had left a paper cone hung with flowers on our front door. We wondered what the occasion might be, and then realized that it was May 1! Not very many people still celebrate May Day—but what a pleasant surprise that was!
I decided to try my hand at creating a May Day favor, and began with a sturdy cardboard cone. I covered it with strips of our First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper and Mod Podge, then attached ribbon by punching holes in either side of the cone with a Crop-a-Dile . After threading the holes with 7/8" Cotton Ribbon, I was ready to decorate. With May Day, the sky’s the limit as far as whimsical floral decorations are concerned. Go crazy! My decorations were fairly simple, but one of these days I plan to create a more elaborate, fanciful version May Day favor!

Want another way to deliver May Day flowers? Try tinting a glass jar using Mod Podge and Classic Stampin’ Ink Refills. (I used Rich Razzleberry Stampin’ Ink Refill for this project.) The process is easy and the results are spectacular.
- Add a few drops of Classic Stampin' Ink Refill to about 1 Tbsp. of water. (I used Rich Razzleberry for this project.) Mix with a spoon until blended.
- Pour about 2 Tbsp. Mod Podge or white glue into a clear jar; add water and ink mixture. Stir.
- Swirl mixture in jar until the sides are completely coated.
- Turn jars upside down on newspaper for about ten minutes, then place right-side up to dry for several hours or until clear. To speed drying, put jars right-side up on waxed paper (on a cookie sheet) in a slightly warm oven (about 180 degrees) for 20–30 minutes or until completely clear.
Finally, for May Day—deliver real flowers . . . ! (I gathered these in a field north of Stampin’ Up!’s home office.) Just decorate your flower jar with 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon, Linen Thread, some buttons and tags—and you have the perfect May Day gift! (You’ll see a Mother’s Day tag on this one—from the Wonderful Mother Stamp Set. I wanted to give you an idea for that special day, too!)
